The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) launched its project focused on developing "independent AI foundation models," officially bestowing upon it the name "K-AI." On the 15th, MSIT conducted a briefing at the Seoul Government Complex to disclose the outcomes of the initial evaluation phase for this project. The evaluation process assessed five participating consortia, resulting in the elimination of two entities, Naver Cloud and NC AI, in this first round.
