Meta has launched its AI assistant, "Meta AI," in South Korea on May 13, 2026. Korean users can access Meta AI through its dedicated mobile application, available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store, as well as via its official website. The fundamental operational framework of Meta AI is underpinned by "Muse Spark" (뮤즈 스파크), which is identified as the inaugural large-scale language model developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs. Meta describes Muse Spark as a foundational model crucial for the progression towards "personalized superintelligence." This concept of personalized superintelligence is defined as an individual AI assistant designed to empower users to manage important tasks efficiently, regardless of their location. Meta AI incorporates two distinct operational modes to address a range of user requirements: an "Instant Mode" engineered for rapid provision of answers to simple queries, and a "Deep Thinking Mode" specifically designed to support more intricate reasoning processes for complex problem-solving. For its South Korean launch, Meta has stated its priority is to ensure Meta AI's relevance, utility, and seamless integration into daily life, with a dedicated effort to reflect an understanding of Korean culture, language, and specific contextual elements.
